My daughter has lived in the building since April and absolutely loves it! The amenities are a great bonus and the view from the roof is amazing. The management has been super helpful and responsive to any of our questions, and we will definitely be renewing! Can't say enough great things about HM!

Hale Mahana Apartments' staff were so welcoming and kind on the day of move-in. Since then I am always met with smiles whenever I come across the Community Assistants. Last Friday, August 18, move-in day was rather fast because of their care and attention to ensure those future residents that completed all the necessary steps were placed in a fast pass line. All I had to do was show an official ID and I had my keys. That is one of the many examples of how Hale Mahana Apartments stand out from... the dorms and other off-campus housing. Not to mention, the goodie bags and merch I got along with my keys. I am glad I found this place and am settling in with the semester ahead of me. Shout out to the CAs Sammi, Steph, Alex, and Mer! Thank you for being so welcoming!

As a resident that has lived here for the past two years, In can honestly say this is the best student housing in the area! The office staff was so helpful when I signed up, taking the time (over 2 hours signing and moving in the same day) to show me each floor plan I was interested in and finding what would work best for me. The roof is perfect for catching some rays and study rooms have a nice view! Very pleased with my experience.

We had our daughter live here while at UH. The apartment was over run with cockroaches and the fire alarms were always going off at 2-4 AM. The management was always adding "fees" and over charging for things like painting.

Aloha Anonymous,
We're sorry to hear your daughter had a bad experience. Cockroaches are common in Hawaii, however, we have great pest control (we've even had residents testify to this under oath!). Since I've been here, I've never seen or heard... of any of our apartments being overrun with roaches (thankfully!). We're happy to assist our residents with guidance in this area if they open a work order. We contact our pest control vendor no matter what the issue and have them come out to do a treatment. We also advise residents to keep dishes done, trash taken out, and food put away to avoid any issues!
We are happy we have an advanced fire alarm system that has done it's job for us many times by evacuating residents in the event that smoke is detected. While the residents may not have ever seen an issue or had a real fire (thank goodness), that doesn't mean the system wasn't performing the way it should. Community living does lend itself to occasional fire alarms!
As for fees/overcharging, I wish I could say we were overcharging for things, but unfortunately living in paradise is pricy, and the vendors that charge for painting/cleaning/etc. are higher than you would find elsewhere.
